The world has been through a pretty rough season lately. And very likely, things may get worse before they get better.
But my friend…there is good news!
You and I can trust that nothing ever takes God by surprise, and He always makes provision for His children no matter what is going on around the world.
Let me give you a scriptural breakdown of some end time events that the Bible declares will happen in the near and not too distant future.
In chapters 19 and 20 of Revelation, we read that Jesus will return to this world and set up His millennial Kingdom with Jerusalem at its heart.
There are a thousand years of peace. Then the devil is let loose for a short time and deceives all the nations. They gather like an army more numerous than the sand by the sea. They surround Jerusalem to destroy it.
But God destroys them with fire out of heaven. And He takes the devil and throws him into the lake of fire for all eternity.
Then comes the Great White Throne Judgment.
At this time, all of the dead, small and great, stand before God. Those that have not accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior are judged by what they did in their life.
Everyone whose name is not found in the Book of Life is thrown into the lake of fire for all eternity as well. And the only way to get your name into the Book of Life is to say yes to Jesus Christ and to His salvation.
We read what happens next in Revelation 21:1–3,
Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.”
He’s going to make a new heaven and a new earth, and this new earth is going to be God’s dwelling place. And it is going to be our dwelling place.
We are going to live together with Him throughout eternity.
You may be asking, “Well, how soon before Jesus does come back? I mean, the world is a mess. No politician can fix it. Only Jesus can fix it.”
The disciples in Matthew 24:3 asked a similar question of Jesus, saying, “What will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
His response was, and I’m paraphrasing: “There are going to be wars. There will be rumors of wars. Nation will rise against nation. There will be a rise in false religions. There will be earthquakes in various places. There will be incurable diseases, pandemics. There will be famines.”
And then finally He says, “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations. And then the end will come.”
We already see all these things happening: wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes, pandemics, rise in false religions.
But Jesus says, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matt. 24:14)
The word nations is the Greek word ethnos. It literally means every single ethnic group, every tribe, every people group, every language group will have this gospel of the Kingdom preached to them as a witness.
I cannot tell you how much that excites me because our generation is the first generation for whom that has ever even been possible. This final step will very likely be completed in our generation!
Every language group, every ethnic group in the entire world will have a gospel witness, and then the end shall come.
Today, I want to invite you to help bring about the fulfillment of this exciting promise in God’s Word.
Through your gift today, you can help take the gospel around the world—in multiple languages—to the nations of the world through the Answers broadcast.
Your support will help take the witness of Christ around the world and, according to 2 Peter 3:12-13, hasten His return…something I believe is quickly approaching!
In Revelation 22:7, 12 and 20, Jesus tells us numerous times that He is coming back soon. As we look at the signs around us, Biblical signs that are being accurately fulfilled, I believe that it gives us a great reason for rejoicing.
Jesus is coming back! God has not forsaken this old world and He will never forsake you.
We have the privilege to be alive in what may very likely be the final generation—the one that sees the return of the King of Kings!
